Session Management
Learn how to monitor, control, and manage your Crucible sessions effectively.
Monitoring Sessions
Live View
When a session is running, you can watch the debate unfold in real-time:
- See each Agent's statements as they're generated
- Track progress through rounds
- Monitor token usage and costs
- View citations and evidence as they're added
Session History
Access all your sessions from the dashboard:
- View session status (draft, running, completed, aborted)
- See session metadata (question, Agents, date)
- Quick access to artifacts
- Filter and search your session history
Controlling Sessions
Aborting Sessions
You can stop a running session at any time:
- Click "Abort Session" in the session view
- Confirm the action
- Partial artifacts may be available depending on progress
Note: Aborted sessions cannot be resumed. You'll need to create a new session if you want to continue.
Editing Draft Sessions
Before starting a session, you can edit:
- The question and context
- Agent selection
- Session settings and guardrails
- Model assignments
Once a session starts, it cannot be edited. You must abort and create a new one.
Session Settings
Configure session behavior with guardrails:
Retrieval Requirements
Require Agents to cite sources or use specific retrieval methods.
Policy Filters
Filter out content that violates specified policies or guidelines.
Dissent Quotas
Require a minimum level of disagreement to ensure robust debate.
Token Limits
Set maximum token usage per Agent or per session.
Deleting Sessions
You can delete sessions from your history:
- Deleting a session removes it from your dashboard
- Artifacts are also deleted (if stored locally)
- This action cannot be undone
- Enterprise customers may have retention policies that prevent deletion
Best Practices
Monitor Active Sessions
Check in on running sessions periodically to ensure they're progressing as expected.
Name Sessions Clearly
Use descriptive names so you can easily find sessions later.
Export Important Artifacts
Download Decision Briefs and Minutes for sessions you want to keep long-term.
Review Before Aborting
Check session progress before aborting—you may be closer to completion than expected.
