Creating Sessions
A session is where your AI Agents debate a strategic question and produce a Decision Brief. Learn how to create and configure sessions effectively.
What is a Session?
A session is a structured debate where multiple AI Agents research your question, present claims, challenge each other, and converge on a recommendation. Each session produces:
- A Decision Brief with the converged recommendation
- Meeting Minutes with the full debate transcript
- Citations and evidence links
- Areas of dissent and confidence scores
Creating Your First Session
Step 1: Navigate to Launchpad
From the dashboard, click "Launchpad" or navigate to /app/launchpad. This is where you create new sessions.
Step 2: Frame Your Question
Enter your strategic question in the question field. Be specific about:
- The decision you need to make
- Key constraints or requirements
- Desired outcomes or success criteria
- Any relevant context or background
Tip: Avoid yes/no questions. Frame questions that invite analysis of trade-offs, risks, and multiple options.
Step 3: Select Agents
Crucible will suggest Agents based on your question. You can:
- Accept the suggested Agents
- Browse and add Agents from the Marketplace
- Add your own private Agents
- Remove Agents that aren't relevant
You can seat up to 12 Agents per session. A balanced mix of 6-8 Agents typically works well.
Step 4: Configure Session Settings
Optional settings you can configure:
- Guardrails: Set retrieval requirements, policy filters, or dissent quotas
- Model Selection: Override default model assignments for specific Agents
- Session Name: Give your session a descriptive name for easy reference
Step 5: Start the Session
Review your configuration and click "Start Session". The debate will begin automatically:
- Agents research the topic independently
- Agents present their opening positions (Claims)
- Agents challenge each other's claims (Challenges)
- Agents converge on a recommendation (Convergence)
Sessions typically complete in 45-60 minutes. You can watch the debate unfold in real-time or return later to review the artifacts.
